The Most Effective Weight Loss Strategies - Important Things You Need to Know

The multibillion dollar fitness industry and those who cling to its popularity and the big business it attracts offer different kinds of weight loss systems to people intent on losing excess pounds. However, nothing beats what has already been tried and tested for many years. There are only two components to this system and when integrated into an individual's way of life, then it is sure to guarantee not only fat loss but overall better health. There really is no special formula for it. A healthy diet and exercise are the key components to an effective weight loss system.
If you really want achieve lasting weight loss, you have to eat to achieve it. This does not mean dieting to the point of hunger-- that's counter productive as it will only trigger binge eating when your body feels deprived. What it does mean, however, is choosing foods that make you full but have comparatively lower caloric content. Thus, instead of choosing soda to drink-- which has roughly 120 calories per can one can-- simply opt for water which has none. Fruits and vegetables generally have lower caloric content compared to pastries, cured meats and other processed food items. Skim milk has a lesser number of calories compared to whole milk.
To lose weight, you have to expend more calories than what you take in. Thus, it's important that you control how much you eat. True, this might be a hassle but it's a helpful aid in ensuring that you get to your desired body weight faster. You don't necessarily have to be that detailed or exact about it, though. If you can weigh the portions, then that's good, but you can simply gauge using your eyes. For your pork, beef or chicken entrees, one decent portion is the size of a deck of cards while for grains like rice, a cup is roughly the size of your fist.
While you can still lose weight through dieting alone, incorporating exercise into your routine makes your weight loss system more efficient and effective. Cardiovascular exercises do not only benefit you by increasing your metabolic rate and shedding excess calories, they also tone your muscles and prevent them from sagging as your body begins to lose the unneeded fat. Besides, exercise has also been found to be beneficial for strengthening the immune system, increasing bone mass and protecting the heart and lungs from illness.
A thirty minute cardiovascular activity like jogging on most days of the week coupled with strength training sessions twice a week will facilitate weight loss and muscle toning that is beneficial for you overall all. If you get bored with your routine or have reached a plateau, do interval training to shock your system into losing the fat. If you like to run, you can do interval training by doing sprints or high intensity runs for a couple of minutes and then walking or low-intensity jogs for a minute. You can do these alternately for 15 to minutes before proceeding to your cardio workout. You can also do interval training with cycling, walking or on the treadmill. All you have to remember is to do the same activity at different intensities.

Eleven Super Effective Weight Loss Strategies

Weight loss is not as easy as many try to make it, but it isn't really that difficult either. One just needs the right information, and the dedication to make the goals happen. There are many strategies available for getting thin, or as many call it, "getting ripped." Have you ever wondered where to start? Here is a list of eleven weight loss strategies, that when combined will give you fast results.
  1. Drink ten 8 oz. glasses of water each day. Water is one of the most overlooked fat loss "supplements" in the world. It hydrates your body, cleanses you of toxins, makes you feel fuller, and gives you energy.

  2. Eat 1200-1500 Calories per day. Calorie counting is still important. Weight gain happens when more Calories are consumed than burned, whereas weight loss happens when more Calories are burned than consumed. Eat a healthy amount of food, and then work it off.

  3. Eat less saturated fat. Fat has nine Calories per gram, as opposed to carbs or protein, which have only four Calories per gram. Eating cleaner protein, that is, eating protein with less saturated fat is healthier and makes it easier to cut Calories.

  4. Cut down on the sugar. Sorry, but the soda pop and candy need to go. Replace it with fruit, and you'll satisfy your sweet tooth while getting your vitamins, energy, and fiber.

  5. Eat six times a day. The human body can only process 500 Calories in three hours. Spreading out the meals will raise your metabolism by continuously working your digestive system. The afternoon slump will disappear, and you will never feel hungry.

  6. Go nuts on fiber. Whole grains, vegetables, and fruit all have fiber that will not only improve your digestive system, but will raise your metabolism, because these foods digest more slowly. Fiber makes you feel full and cleanses your body. Plus, you need at least 25 grams of fiber a day.

  7. Take your "B" vitamins. Vitamin B-1 and B-12 are great energy metabolism vitamins that will keep the steam engine going all day. Take them in the morning, or take a smaller dose at lunch.

  8. Do your strength training. Muscle is a fat burning furnace! Exercising your muscles causes your body to be in repairing mode all day. This will raise your metabolism more than most other strategies. Just get advice on how to do it properly from a trainer, or get involved in a good program or fitness video. Only a half hour, three times a week, is needed.

  9. Do cardio. Do it every day, preferably in the morning, or after you do your strength training. Strength training sheds the pounds all day, but cardio does it right now.

  10. Get an hour of exercise each day. It is optimal to be intensive in your weight loss efforts. An hour of cardio on days that strength training is not done will put you ahead. If an hour is too much, at least do thirty minutes, as it is better than zero minutes.

  11. Make it a lifestyle. Set weekly, monthly, and semi-annual goals, but be in it for the long run. Commit to a new lifestyle, and not just a temporary weight loss strategy, because if you stop doing what helped you to lose weight, you will gain it back.
Losing weight does not need to be very difficult. These eleven strategies have stood the test of time. They put to rest fad diets and quick fixes, and the results are quick. They are the most healthy and well-balanced strategies for getting thin. Commitment and knowledge is king. Eat the right foods, watch your Calories, take your vitamins, exercise and don't look back, and you will see a healthier you.
