Mind-set - is it really that important for weight loss?

Right, I'm not going to waste any of your time here building this up. I'm just going to come out and give you the answer right away. So here we are - 'Yes, Mind-set is very important to weight loss'. In fact, it really is the foundation of any long term weight loss success.

The first thing that we need to look at here is programming. This is really whats its all about. Now, when I say 'programming' I am really referring to your subconscious mind - the driving force behind each and every decision and action you make. Your path, whether towards success or failure, will be determined by your subconscious and how it has been programmed.

Our programming comes from everything we hear, everything people say to us, everything we say to ourselves, all of our internal dialogue, everything that we do, and so on. All of this eventually adds up to create your beliefs. So, for example, if you are consistently told that diets don't work or that you'll never be slim, this is going to be formed into a subconscious belief.

Your beliefs will then be shaped into your attitudes and in this scenario you will begin to have a bad attitude towards dieting. Your attitudes will then be shaped into your feelings and these will determine the actions that you take. So if you don't have positive feelings towards dieting and weight loss then you will never be able to take the appropriate actions to lose weight and keep it off.

So all of this really starts with your programming. If you have spend your entire life battling with dieting and foods and your weight then you're always going to struggle. Your subconscious, simply put, will not be helping you, but hindering you.

What you believe, you will achieve. Its a popular saying and its so true. Even though this saying is often used to motivate people to develop positive beliefs, it also shows that negative beliefs will lead to negative results. If you don't have the right mind-set for weight loss, therefore, you will always struggle.

This is the foundation of all weight loss success. However it is, unfortunately, hugely neglected to the detriment of the majority of dieters and anyone trying to achieve permanent weight loss success. So, what can you do about this?
